Question - (11 December 2008) 1 Answers - (Newest, 11 December 2008)
A female age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I am having a really hard time getting over my boyfriend, as he lives round the corner. I am from a very small town, everyone knows everybody else, his friends are my friends, i know all his family really well. Every advice tells you to move on by having no contact, getting on with your life. I don't ever speak to him we just say hello if we bump into each other, but when we go to the pub we just have to ignore each other. Because it is such a small place i find out everything he has been up to, and i have to walk past his house nearly every day. I have thought about moving away but in times like this you need your friends and family more than ever, and so i couldn't go away on my own, and i can't leave my job. Just don't know what to do. I feel like i am not going to get over him until i am with someone else but i can't rush into anything because i still love him. I have tried my best to go away for weekends, visit friends in other places, but still see him all the time. I really don't know what to do, but i feel i am not getting over him at all. my last boyfriend wasn't from round here, he moved away and i don't know anything about him now, it was so much easier.

eyeswideopen agony auntif you can't move, and can't leave your job then you'll just have to cope with the situation until time has helped heal your heartache. Try to avoid him as much as you can and try to stay busy.
