In fact, experiment with all the positions you and your guy can think of and see what you like best. You can change positions several times, and have sex as many times as you like.
For your first time, you might actually find being on top gives you more control of the situation and is less uncomfortable. My comment would be not to expect too much pleasure on your first go, unless you've already experimented with sex toys, etc. Sex the first time is not unpleasant, but it's not instantly orgasmic, either.
Take things slowly, and don't feel rushed or pressured. When you're into it, get experimental and...
