writes:I'm worried im pregnant,made love a few times this month,was a day behind with my pill so last day took was weds rather than tues usually i get period on the friday but havent had it yet. the night after i had sex i went out got drunk and threw up,could that have meant the pill didnt work for that time? havent missed a pill.been bit more tired than usual and also going to toilet bit more.please help thankyou

Don't panic too much. If you've been worried and stressed about it, that can cause your period to be late.
Once you take a test you'll know for sure, and only then it seems you will be able to relax.

we wont know on here take a pregnancy test but yes if you throw up after 12 hours of taking the pill it will stop the effect

 Drinking too much can makes one throw up.
Rather than guess or assume you are pregnant,i suggest you take a pregnancy test.

 It may well depend on your brand of pill. Read through the information leaflet that comes with them. For example, my contraceptive pill says that if you vomit within 3 hours of taking it, then extra precautions should be used for at least 7 days.
If you are worried you could be pregnant, take a test. Hopefully it will give you some piece of mind if you're not pregnant.
If you can't find the information leaflet that comes with your pill pack, then research online, or even phone NHS Direct, you can find the number online

reader, anonymous, writes (11 September 2010): Well yes you could have thrown up the pill as well. The best thing is to get a test done or to go see your doctor. I'm not saying that you are pregnant but there is a possibility that you are.
