I had never taken it before, and it was given to me both as birth control and acne treatment. The last week of March I was supposed to start a new pack, but took a 1 month break instead. I had the withdrawal bleed on March 22, that is 4 days into my placebos. I took the last placebo on the 25th.I'm not really sure when my period is supposed to start now. I bought the new pack 4 weeks after the withdrawal, but no period came. It's been a week since then, and I have experienced no clear pre menstrual signs. I am a bit constipated, which had been happening to me before my previous real periods, but the #1 sign, that is breast tenderness, has not appeared. I am of course a bit worried because I had sex twice last month, on the last placebo day and two weeks ago. Both times we used a condom, and my partner didn't finish inside me (one time he had finished the night before but without intercourse and the other he didn't finish at all) but I can't help feeling a little paranoid, specially because of the lack of clear symptoms. My periods were fairly regular all my life (30-32 days with very few exceptions of 22 or 35, 36 days). Anyone experienced anything similar?

I am much more calm now.I might talk to my doctor about the shot next time I see her, but I really have no problem remembering taking the pill. In the 6 months I used it I only took one about 3 hours later than the usual time and not because I forgot. I am really paranoid about this so I even set up an alarm on my cellphone just in case I forgot.I know I won't take another break once I start taking the pill again. Lesson learned.

The hormones stay in your body for a while after you go off the pill. I know that if you use the depo shot, which is getting the hormones into your body through a needle, the hormones can stay in your body for up to a year later, making it extremely difficult to get pregnant during that withdrawal year. The birth control pill hormones doesn't stick around that long, but they do take time to leave the body. Which is why a "break" from the pill isn't a break unless you plan to actually go off it. There is also no reason to have a break from the pill, it won't make your body feel better or happier or healthier if you take a month or two off. Quite the contrary I think it will just mix up your cycle and you will go through this again.
Using a condom is preventing pregnancy. You should trust in the contraceptives you use. Have you considered taking the depo shot instead of the birth control pills, as you only need to take it every 3rd month? Here's some information about it: http://www.fwhc.org/birth-control/bcdepo.htm
That would take away the constant reminder of the hormones you get into your body, as you wont have to remember about the pill every day.

I had a slight bleeding 3 weeks after stopping the pill (4 since withdrawal bleed) that lasted only hours, from night to mid morning and didn't even need a pad. I've had some menstruations that start off like that for like a day and then flow heavily but nothing like that.
Now I have a heavy flow, kind of yellowish, that makes me think "this is it" and then I go to the bathroom and nothing. I feel is specially when I walk. That's very frustrating.
I really can't wait to get back on the pill, and this time I won't leave it until my doctor tells me so. I think I was foolish thinking I needed a break after only 6 months.

Birth control pills easily change your cycle or mess it up. When I went off the pill after years or using it, the first 3 months or more I had bleeding every other week. It was annoying, but to be expected. Other times the period can go missing, or last for weeks, or last just a few days, come and go with an irregular pattern and so on. It is just because you were on hormones and then went off them, it makes your body confused I guess.
