However recently my boyfriend went away for 6/7 weeks and he came back for a weekend to visit and I found it really hard to have sex as I was just too tight and it really hurt! It hurt him too a bit. We managed it, but it was really painful for me (even worse that when I lost my virginity, which was relativly easy). And I thought when we tried it again it would be easier but no its still incredibly painful. It doesn't make sense because i've had breaks before (longer) and i've just gone right back into it with no problem. Its really fustrating. I was really relaxed and not tensing so I don't see the problem. He's not even huge in that area and like I said we've had sex a lot before. I have lost weight since he's been away and been doing a lot more excercise (mainly horse riding everyday, as opposed to only doing it once a week for the past few months) but I don't know if that would affect anything. All the info I can find on the internet seems to be for women trying to lose their virginity which makes me worry its something more serious. Any ideas? I feel stupid going to a doctor if its nothing bad and I just need to get back into it... thanks

Well then, I agree that you may need to seek medical examination and advice.
I think it would be very unusual, however, to have such a problem that cannot be dealt with as suggested. My experiences with Asian women, for instance, has required a great deal of time and patience. Anyway, best wishes.

Ah, I think you should see a Doctor because I have not heard of something like this happening before.

In my opinion, the solution to such a situation is two-fold. First, plenty of sexual stimulation prior to intercourse, such as cunnilingus (oral). Secondly, simply take a little more time (patience) during insertion. The vagina has an incredible ability to expand and accept penetration, and the stimulation provides the lubrication needed.
