A female , anonymous writes:

My ex bf asked me to shave 'down there', which i did for a while but now i'm no longer with him i want to stop. I'm 15 and i'm kinda nervous as to how other guys would react, and whether the whole world would find out. Does it look normal when you stop or is it really thick and nasty, and if so how can i make it look thinner again? sorry this question's kinda gross

If you have a problem with shaving it, you should just trim it if you're worried about it growing into a bush. You cant make it thin again, though, you could buy you those pink personal trimmers for women. They can make it appear less hairy and are specifically designed to trim down below. They sell those at Wal Mart near the razors and are cheap. Noone is going to know what down below looks like unless you show yourself to others! Thats nothing to worry about.

Unless you grow a pubic jungle (complemented with monkeys and snakes), it's not going to be noticable to the public.

Bev Conolly agony aunt"The whole world would know"? What, you have a 24-hr webcam on your privates?

No, it just grows out again, same as your leg-hair does, same as your armpit hair does. Don't worry.

It WILL, however, itch like mad for a couple of weeks, maybe a month. Be prepared.

For the future, I think you'd be well advised not to shave it unless *you* really want to. It sets a bad precedent, and let's face it, it's not exactly as if your future boyfriends are going to go on a sexual "strike" and refuse you sex if you look normal!

I recommend letting your pubic hair do what it does, and simply keep it trimmed unless you have a compelling reason to change it, and doing so pleases YOU.

This question isn't gross if you don't want to keep shaving but you don't want it to grow out of control then just trim it, trust me lots of girls do this. Be aware that once you've shaved it it does grow back thicker but to avoid this just trim it once every two weeks and you should be fine.
