Just trim the bikini line neatly.

coucou206 agony auntTrim, dont shave!

Its easier and you wont get scratches or bumps, or ingrown hairs.

I dont know where you live (I live in Kent - moved from france years ago.) but sex isnt a big thing round here. As long as you love him enough but not enough to let him use you, then go for it, but use a condom and birth control, if you cant get both, dont bother, it's not really worth it. There are plenty of other things you can do together. More fun too, because you wont bleed or ache or cry afterwards.

Sex isnt always great, so watch out.

dr.2.be agony auntI think shaving is a good idea before sex. However, going completely bald is really not the way to go in my opinion. I tried bald before and when the stubble started appearing really itchy. If I were you I would shave your bikini area and create a landing strip. That way its more comfortable when the hair grows back. Just remember to keep the remaining hair trimmed and tidy so it looks neat.

Good Luck and practice safe sex!!!

No dont shave it off! trim it. and most importantly, if you feel ready to have sex then go for it! I lost my virginity around the same age. as long as he's a nice guy and treats you right then its great! And people, with all due respect, the girl asked if she should shave her pubes, not for a lecture about sex, im sure she gets enough o that from her parents and school. chill! sex is an amazing and beautiful expression of the human body. just use a condom and be careful! Good Luck!x

A reader, anonymous, writes (31 January 2009):

I think you should talk to your mom and or dad about what you are thinking of doing.....hopefully they can talk some sense into you.

Just because your boyfriend wants to have sex, you don't have to do it or shave anything.

I know you probably don't want to hear this but boys this age who would ask you to have sex with them when you two are this young, are only trying to get some sexual experience under their belt. The minute you do anything like that he will lose all respect for you, he will tell all your/his friends and you will have a bad reputation at school. NOt to mention the physical risks involved in having sex.

Boys this age do not generally have good hygene...you could get an urinary tract infection, HPV virus which leads to cervical cancer and unwanted pregnancy.

If you are mature enough to have sex then you better be mature enough to support a baby on your own....what you aren't? Then think again, there are consequenes to this kind of behvaior and being 14 you are ill equipped.

Back to HPV. Condoms do not protect against this virus. First time sex is sometimes all it takes, you don't have to have even more than one partner to put you at risk, the fact that you are so young, your actual age puts you at an extreme risk for contracting this virus and it does lead to cervical cancer which can be deadly. Once your body is of mature age, say 21, then you are less likely to contract HPV....

Before ever becoming sexually active, go to your doctor and ask to be put on the birth control pill, what you aren't old enough without parental consent? Don't you imagine there is a reason for this? To protect young girls from making bad choices and protecting them from STD's and unwanted pregnancy.....you need your parent's permission, after all, if you have a baby, it will be them who have to raise it.....

Wait until you are older, more emotionally mature, more responsible and in love to have sex. Virginity is not something that you are supposed to loose, no matter what the cool kids say, they are stupid and wrong.

Take care.

If you're not ready to have sex, then wait. You shouldn't feel pressured to have sex if you're not ready. If you are ready, be sure you practice safe sex. Do whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Shave if you want too, but I think your boyfriend's raging hormones probably won't care if you're bald or not.

before sex, u should shave. no guy wants to see a a bunch of hair when goin down there. guys dont like seeing a bush at all so make sure ur smooth before sex.

but i really dont think u should being as ur only 14. ur goin to have many more boyfriends so why lose it to ur first when u were only together for 2 months and are so young?

just wait longer when its actually real love and ur ready. dont lose it just cuz he wants sex. there's more to a relationship then that

CarmRusty agony auntto be completely honest with you, you're 14 years old! you shouldn't even be thinking of having sex. if you guys care about eachother at all, then you would wait for when you are older and more mature about the situation.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (31 January 2009):

Oh dear girl,

PLEASE do NOT perform such a personal experience with someone which you are not married to! Sure, you might have a few minutes of pleasure now, but what about a year or two down the road when he gets bored of you and finds someone else?

You'll NEVER have that first time again. Isn't that something that you have a desire to share with the one you marry one day. What an awesome gift to give 'him' - a bride that has valued 'him' so much, that she saved herself JUST FOR HIM!

What an awesome gift. I am so glad my husband is the only guy for me - even my first kiss! Trust me, you won't regret waiting later down the road. You'll be saving yourself from tons of guilt, disgust, and pain if you wait.

Value yourself, since it's apparent this boyfriend doesn't. If he doesn't care enough about you to respect you in ALL ways, then he isn't mature enough or worth seeing.

Wait for your husband - you'll be so glad you did!

Your too young to be worrying about these types of problems. You are too young for sex. You got the rest of your life to be an adult, act like a kid while you are one.

A male reader, 24yeahright New Zealand +, writes (31 January 2009):

Pubic shaving is an art that takes years to master. If you think this boyfriend of yours will be attracted to a pimply/bumpy/red/itchy/swolen crotch, then by all means, do it.

+ You are a 14 year old girl, not a porn star. There is absolutely no reason why you should have to feel like you should shave down there.
