A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi,

I recently started having sex on a regular basis, 2 months ago.

Often after my boyfriend and I have sex, my vagina has a tingling sensation, like I need to pee and sometimes there's even traces of blood when I go to the toilet....

What's this from? And what can I do?

Thankies

A male reader, DoubleM United States +, writes (6 January 2009):

DoubleM agony auntAlthough I'm a man, the tingling you briefly described sounds fairly normal, especially if you orgasm during intercourse or oral stimulation. Perhaps some of the Agony Aunts can confirm the sensation, but as a man I have very frequently experienced tingling sensations following sex. Never worried about it. After all, your nerve endings are highly stimulated during sexual activities. For me, prolonged sensations have always been part of the pleasure.
