PAP smears are used to detect pre-cancerous cells on the cervix. Cervical cancer is a 'silent' cancer that would often otherwise go undetected (and likely metastasize begore diagnosis) if a woman did not have her yearly exam.
A PAP smear ONLY checks for the presence of abnormal cells growing on the surface of your cervix which could later turn into cancer. Usually, an abnormal pap smear is a sign that you may have been infected with a form of hpv...but not everyone who has an abnormal pap smear has hpv. Various factors can influence pap smear results and some people are genetically predisposed to developing cervical cancer due to genetic factors.
Finally, unless you have explicitly requested to be tested for all stds like chlamydia, herpes, aids, gonorrhea, etc. and have had blood drawn and other tests performed, you have NOT been tested for STDs at all. Chlamydia is often a 'silent' infection. Women can have it and not have symptoms at all.
70% of all women and 25% of men who are infected with chlamydia have NO SYMPTOMS! It is very possible that you have had the infection for years. If you have had other sexual partners before your current boyfriend, it is even possible you infected him without knowing you were infected yourself.
Finally, chlamydia is transmittable via sexual intercourse, oral sex, AND kissing. The bacteria can live in someone's mouth and throat. It can cause tonsillitis, and even pneumonia if you have a weakened immune system. Because your partner has been diagnosed, you both need to be treated with antibiotics at the same time, otherwise you can just reinfect each other.
For your own peace of mind, please visit a doctor or clinic and have a battery of std tests run so you know for certain what you have been exposed to and so you can get whatever treatment you may need immediately.

Did you contract it this time? Like your last test was clean but this test came back positive, or did this one come back clean as well? Has he been tested before (like at the beginning or while you were dating)? It's possible he has had the whole time. However if it has changed, then he definitely cheated.

Men don't have any symptoms of chlamydia. He could have had it for years without knowing. My question though is.. did you come back negative?

You can have chlamydia for a long time without knowing it. When was his last STD check?
