I think you know in your heart if your love is real and you also know deep inside if it should be .My girlfriend is ten years older than me. I was 20, she was 30, but ten years down the line and I still feel that it was not important that she is older than me. Love knows no boundaries exept those you set for yourself. If you listen to your heart you can't be wrong .

By whose standards are you wanting to know? Are you in trouble or in the wrong as it were asked. It depends solely on your beliefs. What do you and he think and, moreover how do the two of you feel towards each other? Are you willing, and are you able, to commit to each other your true feelings for each other? Don't worry what others think, they are not living with the two of you.
