Height doesn't matter, it is only a couple of inches, ask her if you can talk to her, and ask her out :)

my brother's girlfriend is like 3 or 4 inches taller than him and my boyfriend is the exact same size as me... height is not an issue! if you like her then ask her out. I know you're shy, but whem you ask her, convince yourself nothing can go wrong. it wont be too bad. the worst she can say is sorry but no :) it'll be okay

To say one thing, height doesn't really matter. Two inches isn't really a noticeable height difference in the first place. What really matters in the relationship is what each of you thinks of the other.

As to asking her out, if you want to avoid asking her infront of her friends, just say, "Hey, can I talk to you alone for a minute?" Like Harry did to ask Cho to the Yule Ball in Book 4.

A female reader, Taylor1234 Canada +, writes (20 October 2010):

Hi, you just responded to my question about my crush in grade 12 (thank you very much by the way..) and I think that it is no problem at all if you date her and she's taller than you. If you really like her, then go for it! :)

I must tell you though-- from a girl's point of view- some girls don't feel comfortable that the boy is shorter (not that they're annoyed or anything) they just feel like they're the more 'manly' one in the relationship, because of their height. But not all girls think like this, so I think that you should ask her out, and if she says yes, then your height obviously doesn't affect her in anyway possible, and if she says no, then move on.

And for the 'asking her out near her friends' situation. Go up to her and say, "Hey______, can I talk to you alone for a second?" And then if her friends don't back away and they act all immature, ask her if you can call her on the phone or something, and talk later.

Also, for being shy, when you're going up to her, just think to yourself, 'I AM A SEXY BEAST. NOTHING CAN STOP ME.' hahaha :)

I hope I helped!

P.S. For my question-- how do you think I should get his attention? I barely know him and I find it really awkward.
