Have you tried contacting a legal aid organization? Call these lines, and ask if they can help you, or if they can't, perhaps they can give you a number to call that can help you with your aunt's SSD issue:Civil Practice * Bronx Neighborhood Office. 953 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY 10459. Tel.: (718) 991-4600 * Bronx Housing Court Office. 1118 Grand Concourse (at 166th Street), Bronx, NY 10451. Tel.: (718) 681-8712According to their website, this office also have an advocacy program on Disability Benefit. http://www.legal-aid.org/en/ineedhelp/civilproblem/disabilityadvocacy.aspxAs for the police harassing you, it would appear that it would be a bit more difficult to address, other than you filing a complaint against these harassment yourself. Women are often easy targets for intimidation. Seeing two pillows alone should not be an indication of your ex having been there. However, the only "fault" you had was "guilty by association" since they knew that you were his girlfriend [though, as you said, he is now an ex]. The only thing you can do, I suppose, is to continue to cooperate with the police. But, hopefully, after you filed your complaint, the harassment will stop. Good luck, and I hope all goes well with your aunt.Cat
