I'd really like to push myself to talk to boys and become friends and socialise with more people. My only problem is I get really shy talking to guys, especially that are around my age range. Even if I am not attracted to them and don't see them in that way at all, I don't feel like I can relax and be confident socialising with them because I'm conscious that there is a guy right in front of me! I'm not sure why and want to overcome this, any advice? Thanks

Just relax. You should spend more time around guys even if just cousins just to get used to it. The more you get used to it, the easier it will be to talk to guys. Start off by making yourself to see guys as friends. Just friends. Talk to them as you would a friend and be yourself. Let your personality shine through your shyness. In time you'll find that it really isn't as difficult as you initially thought it would be. It will get easier. It will.

Start off by just greeting a few people as you pass by or if you're sat next to them in class or whatever, ask if they're doing anything at the weekend, just general chit chat. You'll start to feel more relaxed in no time.
