Hi. Any advise will be helpful. In the last 6 months or so when my boyfriend brings me to orgasim I have this rush of emotion and I can't help but cry. I don't understand what this is about. It just starts and tears are just running down my face. I do know that certain chemicals are released when you orgazim and does anyone know if this is what is causing me to feel so unbelievably sad? maybe it is emotional. Oh important...it doesn't happen when I masterbate. Only when he brings me there himself. I haven't tried with anyone else as I am not a cheater.

A female reader, Tisha-1 United States +, writes (27 May 2008):

Tisha-1 agony auntThe tears happen to me too occasionally. I don't worry about it because I think it's just that you have released all your feelings and are completely vulnerable. Not a bad thing, I think, you're in a safe place with your boyfriend and you can let yourself go entirely, you trust him and can just let all the pent up emotions escape along with the physical release you experience.

I'm guessing this because you say it doesn't happen when you masturbate, so it's the emotional intimacy and connection you feel with your boyfriend that allows this to happen. Maybe you've got some other stressors in your life? Job, family, money?

As for me, I don't worry about it at all anymore. Sometimes it happens, most times it doesn't, but my husband's used to it by now, and doesn't mind in the least, and I get a good cuddle afterwards which makes the whole experience just sublime!

pashanoodle agony auntI am guessing it is to do with those hormones...I believe the culprit in this case is Oxytocin...

It is interesting to me that you feel sadness tho - are there other emotional issues going on for you at the moment that could be triggering the sadness when the attachment horemones are activated?

A reader, anonymous, writes (27 May 2008):

This is not uncommon and, as you say yourself, is brought on by an emotional rush. This is quite normal so don't let it make you feel sad. What does your boyfriend think? I am willing to bet he feels fantastic about having such a powerful effect on your lovemaking.

Other side of the coin, I heard of a girl who would laugh uncontrollably after orgasm, almost to the point of hysteria, also brought about by a highly charged emotional state. Very disconcerting for the guy concerned I imagine!

So be at ease with your feelings and accept that what is happening is perfectly normal.
