Hi,
This is a new experience in your life and of course it's difficult to talk to your mom, you don't know how she will react? I know she loves you unconditionally and will understand and support you. It's good that you want to share this experience with her and I am sure she will appreciate. If she gives you some harsh advice, just know that she's just looking after you because she cares about you. Just wait for the right moment, and talk to her. You will see that after you tell her, it wasn't so difficult after all... :)
Enjoy this new experience and don't slack in school work...
Good luck/best wishes
