Especially in the case where the girl is already taken by one male...what kind of subtle tension in body language and words do you see from the male who is jealous and competitive? For example, if the 3 of them are standing or sitting together, and the girl wants to cuddle her new guy a little bit, the other guy REFUSES to look at them, looks away with s sharp turn of the head, doesn't acknowledge it and seems to act like he doesn't care, but then won't even look, stares straight ahead. Also, I guess putting the other guy down, or even trying to look more manly around the other guy...things like that..What SUBTLE signs do you know of? Body language, words...

The best way to determine that there is tension between two guys, vis-a-vis some girl, is to note the guns which each pulls out when he (they) say, "Keep your f%*#king hands off my girl, or I'll blow your f%*#king brains out!!!!"
I assure you... the guy with the bigger/better gun will win her heart, every time.....
