It's not the sex, it's the ice cream afterwards...
seriously however person12345 is right... most folks in committed relationships gain weight in the beginning...
my husband has gained 30 pounds in the two years we are together... and I've gained a bit too... trust me it's not from sex.

Sex unfortunately doesn't burn many calories. I haven't heard that rumor, but no matter what it isn't going to be a very strong effect if it does release hormones. I have sex near daily and am very slender and so is my boyfriend. However, when we first moved in together I gained 15 lbs over the year because I was eating as much as him and that was a mistake. I realized what was happening though and dropping back to my normal weight was pretty easy.
It's not the sex that makes you gain weight, it's often the relationship. Guys should be eating more, so don't try to match him snack for snack, portion size for portion size. Just make sure not to change your eating or exercise habits and you will be fine.

A happy, satisfied woman has much more of a tendency to be relaxed about exercise and eating habits. Studies show most people don't take care of their diet or exercise unless they feel they need to or feel the way they currently are makes them unhappy. Good sex and lots of it can make a person lazy about those things. It's called "happy weight" although a lot fitness stuff seems to use that term to describe your "ideal" weight.
Too much sex is not going to make you gain weight, but being too happy can make you lazy about diet and exercise and being too happy can come as a result of lots of great sex.
