Struggling with work, what could this be and how can I get back on track?

Okay, this is not exactly a relationship question, but I need your help! I'm a text writer. It is expected of me that I write 3/4 texts each hour of a workday (8 hrs in total). I've only been doing this for 4 weeks.

My problem is that lately I can't seem to concentrate anymore on the task at hand. I get distracted all the time. I just finished my studies at Uni for this year so I haven't had much time off yet, and I still feel like I'm in the middle of the semester even though I'm at home with my laptop.

I have a very hard time getting the deadlines, even going over it several times. It's like I can't do it. I just stare at my Word document and nothing happens. I'm usually a quick worker, but now it feels like I'm slacking off even though I put in the hours. Anyone have any idea what this could be and what I can do to get back on track?

Thanks for the advice. Got an e-mail today saying they ended my contract. I had missed too many deadlines and I asked for help too late and they can't work with me like this. Can't say I blame them. I just can't concentrate somehow. It's like my head is stuffed with cotton. I'm going to visit the doctor just incase because I'm not used to being like this. Feeling pretty down now because I have always been a good employee and this is the first time I wasn't.

Aunty Honest agony auntJust an afterthought:

It sounds like you may be a bit depressed. The end of uni means leaving lots of people behind, often a fantastic few years, independent living and having to get a job and get on with life can seem a bit bleak sometimes. Or maybe it's something else? A relationship, family tensions, anything really. If this is the case perhaps that's part of why you're so demotivated. Try doing something to address these issues whatever they may be. If you miss uni, go see a uni friend, if you're having a family issue, try talking it out or breaking the tension. Perhaps talking to someone you trust would help? Or just doing something to cheer yourself up like a good night with your mates? Worth thinking about!

Aunty Honest agony auntI have to write to deadline sometimes too and it's really hard when you get stuck. Here's some things that have helped me-

Try and get in the habit of being constantly writing, even if its just making a note here and there, or knocking out a paragraph about something you saw at the weekend. It sounds kind of lame, but even something like writing the odd paragraph keeps you writing so it comes more naturally under pressure.

Try your absolute best, to not get overly stressed about it. When you put too much pressure on yourself it becomes harder and harder. If you work form home take a five minute break, have a snack or read something and then approach it again.

Keep typing even if its rubbish, hit the points you need to make as quickly as you can and bizarrely as needbe then go over it and make it make sense. Something to work from is better than nothing even if it is crap.

Could you do two or three at a time? That way when you hit a wall with one you can go onto the other and vice versa, means your producing more constantly.

Ask for help. From a superior, a colleague or even a family member, just a quick ah help how the hell do i do this, might help get the ball rolling.

Take a big break when you can. At the weekend, take it really easy, try not to think about it at all, read, watch telly and try and unwind.

Hope that helps!
