We have totally different personalities, but I don't know if I should leave because I love her daughter who is two with all my heart, and really don't know if I can be without her. I want to be her Dad. I know that I can forget my hopes of finding someone more like me and make it work with my girlfriend for her daughters sake. Is this the right decision? A whole year and a half with nothing in common. It's up to you if you leave or not. If you decide to stay respect the differences you have. We don't date because their like us, we date because their not. Could you imagine waking up every morning to yourself. How boring would that be. In each relationship, both people bring important qualities to the table, and their usually not identical to the other persons.
Good luck to you.

You need to see if there is a way to compromise the different personalities. Maybe seek professional help.
