Hi aunts,

I started taking the pill (Yasmin) for the first time ever, on wednesday last week, on the first day of my period. It has been 10 days and I am still bleeding. Is this common? Should I be worried? My periods usually last for 7 days at the most.

I decided to go on the pill because of contraception and also because I want to skip periods. It's annoying because all this bleeding is preventing me from sexual activity with my boyfriend, and I've also got a weekend away coming up which I was hoping to be blood-free for.

Any advice or personal experiences with starting the pill?
