However, this is thought to be more common in men who perform oral sex on women (the culprit is the HPV virus, which may transfer itself from the inside of the vagina or cervix to the man's throat). The point is that the cervix and throat are both dark, moist areas where the virus can culture itself. Some strains of HPV are particularly virulent and over time can cause cancer. The outer skin of a man's penis is not a particularly good place for HPV to take hold, and so it is less likely for the virus to be transferred during oral sex. (However, this is still am area of active research, and it is not clear whether the folds of an uncircumcised male's foreskin could harbour the virus, for instance.)All this being said, it could take years for such a cancer to develop, and so many factors are involved, such as the specific strain of virus. It should definitely not be the first thing that comes to your mind. A doctor would help you to decide whether this possibility should even be considered in your case.Have a look at the back of your throat in a mirror, using a flashlight if necessary. Are your tonsils inflamed? (Look up tonsil pictures online if you are not sure what they are supposed to look like.) It is possible that you contracted bacterial or viral tonsillitis, possibly from your partner's penis. Tonsillitis in adults usually resolves in 4-10 days, but you should see a doctor anyway, in case the source of the tonsillitis is serious (for instance, glandular fever, i.e. "mono").On the other hand, is the back of your throat coated in a white film (this could be patchy or covering the whole back of the throat)? In this case, you might have contracted a fungal infection, known as "thrush". Nystatin rinse is the recommended medication for this, but it must be prescribed by a doctor. Finally, your throat could be soar for a number of simple reasons, such as trauma to the back of the throat from thrusting of his penis. You might just have a bout of cold or flu (certainly possible even in summer). Or maybe your throat is just dry and you just need more fluids.I hope this has been informative. Whatever the cause, see a doctor, both to give yourself peace of mind and to find out what is really going on! You should see the doctor even if the situation resolves -- an underlying problem can sometimes present its symptoms in cycles.
