Somebody please give me some thoughts before I head to the doctor.

A female United States age 36-40, anonymous writes:

hi. since august 08 i have been irregular with my periods. that was the month i started college. since i started college, i believe i had one in august i don't believe i had one in september and i had one in november. then i didn't have one in december. from then on i didn't haven't had one since(it is now the end of march).

i am a full time student in colleg, i work almost full time, i am planning a wedding, and a trip out of the country. i stress easily. i know i'm not pregnant. i think it might be stress.

somebody please give me some thoughts before i head to the doctor. thanks. it is getting closer to the wedding and the trip and closer to my finals...

.i am so stressed. please somebody put my mind at ease. because i am thinking the worst (ovarian cancer).

Nobody here can tell you whether it is a medical condition, but stress can majorly disrupt your cycle, as you've already said. You need to examine your diet, too. If you are living a stressful lifestyle, not sleeping, eating poorly, are overweight or underweight etc, then these are all going to throw your cycle off.

Your doctor will do all the regular tests, or suggest them, and then you'll have a better idea. Also, remember that some women have irregular periods all the time, and there's no problem.
