writes:Okay so me and this guy have been texting a little bit over a year and over the time we have been texting I have been developing strong feelings for him. Recently(like three days ago)we were roleplaying(it was clean)and during the role play he told me that he loved me, I told him I loved him too. Ever since then we have been all lovey dovey and I don't mind that at all, but its confusing me. Sometimes he will say "I'm so lucky to have you""Your all mine""I'm lucky your mine" usually people how are dating will call each other "mine", so I'm wondering if we are dating or not. I've asked other people but they said we're not because he never asked me out. Also,(to me)I'm a socially awkward person so I don't know how to ask him(if that's the only way I would find out)without making it awkward.

reader, anonymous, writes (8 January 2015): Here's a few clues. Does he call you a lot, or always try to get close-up to you? Does he smile or act as happy around other girls as he does around you? Every-time you check your phone for messages, are they from him?
He is dating you in his way, but he doesn't call it that; because he may not exactly know if he is. He was able to say things freely when you role-play. He took it further than he had to, and really got into character. Right? He gave you a few clues to let you know how much he really likes you.
So for now, just go along with him. Until he knows what it is he's doing. You're both pretty young, so dating might not be a word in his vocabulary just yet. If he is, he may be too shy to say so. It sounds really nice to me.
Take it as dating. The more you see and hear from him, then the more likely you are. I think he's comfortable enough to tell you, if you just ask!
