writes: About a fortnight ago now I ended up sleeping with my English teacher, i really regret it and I know he does too, I'm 18 and he is about 25, I couldn't help my self he is gorgeous!! Is it still as bad if our age is so close? It's not like he is 40 !

reader, anonymous, writes (25 May 2010): it isnt about age. he made a promise, a committment to his students and its disgusting that he's broken that by sleeping with a student. its wrong. if he loved you he would have waited until youd left college/uni. if he was just up for some fun then he should control himself and know better. how do you know youre the only person he's slept with? he obviously takes this sort of thing pretty lightly... so who knows? i just dont think it's right.
i understand everybody has different views and opinions and i respect that, it just angers me to think that one day i might send my daughter to school/college/uni, just for her to end up sleeping with someone who i can supposedly put my trust in.
regardless though, it is done now and there isnt anything you can do to change it. my advice, should you want to actually be with this man, is to wait until after you have finished education. his job is at stake, and if it's that important, you'll both wait. if it was a one night thing, and that's all, then i suggest you move on and try to forget about it. either way, dont let ANYTHING ruin your education, or his career. think about the consequences.

this teacher youve slept with, he broke the LAW. he is under a contract to look after and protect his students in terms of school/college, and he broke it. he could go to prison. you could get into some trouble also, being 18. dont do it again.

Regardless if you are now of age and he's only a couple years older than you, it is still very inappropriate for a teacher and student to have sex. If you think you really like him or want to have that kind of relationship with him, wait til he is no longer your teacher and when you are out of that school. Other wise you could jeopardize his career, reputation not to mention your place in that school. You're are 18 now and suppose to be in charge of your own actions, act like it and keep your hormones in check. What if you ended up pregnant with his child? That wouldn't be the easiest future a head of you no matter how you look at it, abortion, adoption, or if you kept the kid.
