Question - (1 August 2009) 3 Answers - (Newest, 2 August 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Ok,this is really, really creepy-I just want some opinions on what this could be-sorry it's a bit long.I met my boyfriend 4 years ago and he didn't seem remotely obsessive-we didnt see each other very often either, but he always seemed to know things about my wereabouts that he shouldn't-and 3 years ago a few bizarre things started happening-for example one time,as I was on my way back from his house, this man,who he'd just introduced me to as his friends baby father drove past-but this was 30 odd miles away from my boyfriends house-there are loads of other weird little things, too complicated to explain but at the time I couldn't see how they could possibly mean anything so I just forgot about them-then,2 and a half years ago we had a fight over some money he'd asked me for and he gave me 2 black eyes-a few days after this I saw him just round the corner from my flat-he claimed not to know the way there,it was always me going to see him see,but he blanked me-it was definatly him,but when I went home and rang him he claimed he was inside-even though the noise on his end of the phone indicated otherwise.

anyway,he made several of these appearances and I was freaked out so I went to my mum's house and more or less stayed inside for two weeks-then I went down to see him again at his place and when I left he said he was going to bed-then a couple of hours later he made another appearance the other side of the city-I have no doubt it was him-he even had the same clothes on.Anyway,I was so freaked out I did'nt go home for the next two days,I was just wandering around the city, some men I didn't know were following me around for about half an hour, talking in loud voices about my name and my boyfriends name and the arguement we'd had, saying I hit him first and he was going to get me in trouble-they were also talking about our sex life and about how I shave a particular area of my body-baisically there was'nt a shadow of a doubt that it was for my benefit-a few other things like this hapened-small groups of people following me for a bit, having conversations for my benifit-mentioning my private buisness to draw my attention to them-a common theme for these conversations was how my boyfriend was going to get me in trouble.A few of these people I had seen hanging around near his house, the rest I didn't recocnize.

Anyway I was FREAKED so stupidly I walked out into the countryside, thinking they'ed get bored and give up-I kept seeing the same cars drive past-I checked the numberplates,it wasn't paranoia.I turned off the main road and went down this farm track and one of the cars pulled up and parked-I was so scared I went into this field thinking I could find an alternative way out and lose then-but there was'nt one so I just hid -by now it was pitch dark so I just lay down in the long grass-my phone kept ringing on a private number and the car which had parked by the field did'nt move-I could see them as the internal light was on.Anyway after about an hour I couldn't take the cold and damp anymore so I got up and headed back to the road.I kept reverse charge calling my mum at every phone box to try and get her to pick me up but she did'nt answer so I kept going,I ended up walking 20 miles in high heels and by the time I got to a town I was exhausted, hysterical, covered in mud and my hair was frizzed out all over the place-I must've looked like a mad woman-at which point I hailed what I thought from the distance was a cab-from the light on top but turned out to be a police car-I was hoping to beg a free ride to the train station.

Anyway I ended up telling them the whole lot, whilst in hysterics and wailing you might as well arrest me I'm sure I'm wanted-I was'nt but before they dropped me off at the station they shone a light in my eye to see If I was on drugs and I could tell the guy was getting ready to restrain me-they obviously thought I was nuts and I wasn't going to get out the car or something-I don't know if they logged the incident but it dose'nt make me look too good ,right.Anyway I got home to my mum's house, which is also in the countryside, and I've never invited my boyfrind there and a few days later this car pulled up outside as I was looking out the window,daydreaming-there were two women inside shouting and then one of them got out the car and pointed to our house ,saying that house there-then she got back in and they just drove off.I thought at the time it was just my boyfriend paying a few of his mates to scare me out of reporting him for the black eyes, but after a month of hiding at my mums house, when I went back to my town imagine my shock at realizing I was still being followed-this has never stopped and I don't know what on earth they want-the police would think I 'm insane if I reported it,as do my family I don't know what I should do -I'm on the verge of tears as I'm typing this cos noone believes me-please tell me what you think, many thanksx

i agree with quiet echo but. keeping a log of the dates and times of thease ocurences seems too be the best idea for now once you have enough evidence show it to the police. also like Rifraf said Stay IN WELL POPULATED AND LIT AREAS! straight up though.

I know that was stupid but I was scared and wasn't thinking straight-I thought they would get bored or something.I thought I could mabey find a footpath off the road and lose them.My mum just thinks it's far fetched and she isn't very streetwise-she keeps telling me to confront them,as if she thinks they will come right out and say yeah my name and adress is such and such and this is why I'm following you.My dad is very skeptical beleiving anything he hasn't seen for himself and he lives abroad so he has'nt witnessed anything
