writes: I had an ectopic pregnancy last summer. It was a shock as I din't know I was pregnant as I had a coil fitted.Since then I have had no desire for sex and I have panic attacks when my partner touches me intimately. This of course is putting a strain on our relasionship. I have spoken to my nurse at my local GP. She has said it's understanable and to give it more time. At the moment I cannot see myself ever getting the desire to have sex back. I have also had a miscarrage and a stillbirth in the past and I think I now link sex with all that's happened to me in the past. Please help

I really do feel for you....my dear, you have had a micarriage...a still birth and a ectopic pregnancy...no wonder you identify sex with that. You must get professional counselling...a trained bereavement counsellor who will get you through this.A loss of a child is the most traumatic experiance a woman could go through and you need the full support of your partner as well as your family and friends. When i lost my 1st child i started to get panic attacks everytime a person i knew was expecting a baby....it was awful but i did seek help and i had this wonderful woman come round my house and she would sit and listen to how i felt and what i was going through....and i came out of it a better woman. Please make another appointment to your doctors and he will refer you.Good luck.
