A relative of mine had her gall bladder removed - it was done using keyhole surgery - so there were about 4 little holes that have healed up really really well. She was in hospital for about a day and half - and then was a bit sore and sorry for about a week after that...
some people who have this surgery go back to work 3 days later I'm told...so I think it just depends...
given that you're young I suspect you will be able to bounce back faster!!!
Don't be scared - noone wants to have surgery, but if it fixes the problem it will be well worth it. My relative had had probs with gall stones etc for about 30 years....she was so relieved to have it sorted!!
