Shy and long distance, why should I do?

Question - (2 June 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 2 June 2009)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I recently met the oldest son of a family friend. We've seen one another only twice (different schools) but I have heard many things about him from his brothers and it seems like we'd be compatible. We've texted several times and it's going well, but the only problem is that he's really shy and working 5 hours away! He will come back home only to go on vacation and later be here in August. What should I do?

A female reader, ilovebowsandcherries United Kingdom +, writes (2 June 2009):

ilovebowsandcherries agony auntask him to hang out when he comes back you know go to the cinemas or get somethig to eat?

something so you can be alone together give you guys a chance to talk and stuff.

i mean if he's shy you just ask him or tell him you like him and would like to see him a bit more when he comes home for his vacation.

at least then he'll not be so shy around you whereas he knows you like him and the feelings mutual rather than constantly thinking does she like me? or does she not?

you'll be cracking open the shell this way.

Hope this helps.
