Should we start anything sexual?

A male United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi. I'm 17 and my girlfriend is 16, and I was wondering if we should start anything sexual. I would like to try oral sex, but would she? I'm not sure if she wants to or not, and I feel like if I mention this it will scare her away or make her think I'm crazy and break up with me.

It seems too hard to bring this up... but it seems like we should do something...

I just don't know how to inciate these things, or if I should even try. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (23 November 2008):

If you have to ask whether she would be interested in this, she probably isn't. If and when she wants to take the next step sexually, it will be apparent in her behavior. In the meantime, don't push her.
