Should this size of a toy cause me pain?

Question - (6 July 2009) 3 Answers - (Newest, 6 July 2009)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I just recently bought my first d*ldo, and its diameter is 2". Based on all of the ones I looked at, the diameter was on the low-average end, with the smallest one's being 1.75" and others going 3" or larger. I figured that the 2" would be just fine

Frankly, the toy seems too big! I am able to insert it with a bit of lube, but there's usually a bit of pain afterward. I'm not using it often, to say the least, because of the associated pain.

Because it's the internet, I suppose I shouldn't be embarrassed to say that I haven't had sex in almost 3 years, and I'm wondering if this might be part of the reason why it's hurting. I've used the toy probably 10 times now, for a total of maybe 30 minutes.

Should a 2" diameter toy cause me pain? Thoughts?

Thanks.

Personally, I hardly ever insert a dildo. I use the vibrator on my clitoris, that is the only way I can reach orgasm with a toy. Have you tried this?

As far as size goes...you probably need a smaller diameter and plenty of lubricant.

bobbles32 agony auntSome of the ribbed dildos and the ones with "natural bumps" can cause a lot of pain because they don't have the give that a real penis would.

aphexinfinite agony auntno it shouldnt cause you great discomfort. perhaps buy a smaller one and see how you feel the difference i know so many people buying dildos thinking that they will be the right size or fit but one size does not fit all. some of us are bigger or smaller so we need to accomodate that its not like you can get a ruler and measure lol. i would say try a smaller one and see how that feels. their was a fact that after so many years of no sex can make you feel like a reborn virgin but i dont think it should cause too much problems if a smaller one doesnt work then perhaps you should make an appointment with your doctor. good luck aphex xx
