I've just been put on citalopram for moderate/severe depression and I was wondering before I go on them if any of you have been on it and if it has actually made a difference to your life.I'm quite scared to go on them because of the side effects and the fear of not being able to live without them. Also, I have AS exams this week, should I wait till after them to start the drugs or not?I'm so worried and confused so I hope you can help.

They would not have given you a very expensive drug for free if there was not evidence that it works.
If you have exams then you need to be your best and you don't want your illness to affect you.
If you are worried about side effects and everything then call your doctor and talk to him about it. He knows far more than me or anyone else on the internet as he knows your history etc which is important.
Good Luck!! xx

But at your age that shouldn't be a problem. My advise is go ahead and start taking them as your doctor advised.
