Yes, go for it! I volunteered in a children's charity funded school in Cambodia in my early 20s, after University and it was the best experience. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I could afford to.
Like the other Aunts have said, make sure the organisation has good reviews. I was recommended mine by someone who had been there. Get travel insurance. Make sure you have enough funds to last you the whole trip. Possibly book only your flight there, rather than a return flight, so that if you want to come home early or if you want to carry on travelling after volunteeeing, you can do.
Travel as much as you can while you are young. You will learn so much, widen your horizons about what jobs you can do and you will have an amazing time, meeting lots of people. Go for it :)

I would but I would be DARNED sure that the country you wish to go to is as SAFE as possible for the volunteers. And that the group you go with is a trust worthy one as well.
It's only 3 months and they will fly by!

YES! YES! YES! Do it! It is a wonderful opportunity to see somewhere different in the world, learn about a different culture and help others less fortunate than you. It will also boost your confidence and give you something very impressive to put on your CV. Employers cannot fail to be impressed by something like this.
Can you involve a friend, or even a few friends, in this and do it together? That way you will be able to support each other while away from home.
3 months is a long time for being away the first time from home. Would it be possible to have a "trial run" of a week or two somewhere first, so that you can get a taste of what being away from home is really like? Even if it is only a holiday in this country with your friends, it will help you get an idea of what is in store.
Make sure you go through a reputable charity as you obviously need to stay safe.
Good luck. Something like this will change your life.
