my boyfriends birthday is coming soon, and i want to make it special because his last two birthdays have not been so great! im thinking along the lines of a surprise. should i throw the party at his place? he has two roommates, who love throwing parties. i can collaborate with them, or i can throw it somewhere else, like a bar or restaurant. does anyone have any other interesting ideas?

nologo agony auntIn life I meet people with different background.

And I do know that life is different everywhere.

Just asked a person from your country a question about parties - don't do it in a bar or restaurant.

Make a private party at his place, at your place or somewhere else where are no other people around.

Otherwise you have to follow the rules imposed by those who own such places - it means little fun.

Now about "he has two roommates, who love throwing parties"

You should definitely collaborate with them - they can help.

DV1 agony auntBeware of letting guys help plan parties. They don't always know when to draw the line, and may try to get him a stripper. I would go it alone. If you can, sneak a peek at his phone(in this case, it's ok), and call everyone on it, and tell them where to be, and ask them to bring any of his friends that they know, and any food or beer that they want.
