We agreed, after a lot debate, that i'd go to the doctors. I have an appointment next friday. My best friend is basically my dad - although not biologically. He's a better dad than my real one ever was, thus - he's my dad. My mum knows how close I am to him and she doesn't mind.I can't talk to my mum. She doesn't 'know' offically, from me, about my depression - although I suspect she has strong suspicions. Should I tell her about the appointment?

You need to tell your mum. She can help you so much. Over the last year or two I have been in the same situation. One of my friends suspected it and I took her advice and I went to someone that i knew could help. I didnt tell my mum and it made things worse because she got worried which gave stress. Telling your mum would be best for everyone.
