Should I tell my boyfriend I'm in love with him?

Question - (29 January 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 29 January 2009)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi, I think I am in love with my boyfriend. I love everything about him, he has his flaws as any person does but he wouldn't be the same without them. I know it's not lust because it isn't just physical attraction... what drew me to him was his personality. The thing is I don't know if he feels the same way. I don't know whether to tell him that I love him or not. I am scared that the relationship will change if I tell him and he doesn't love me... please help.

TasteofIndia agony auntHow new is this relationship?

That's the key question. If you are within the first... say, 3 months, I would hold back. The L-Bomb shouldn't be dropped too early or it can change the relationship - maybe he'll think you're moving too fast or overwhelming him. But, if this relationship is like, 4+ months, I'd say go for it, if you really feel it's genuine. Maybe he's too nervous to say it first!

Good luck!
