I did this to my exboyfriend on november 2 of this year and I don't know how to shake the guilt? We was bf/gf for 5 months. Should I tell him or leave her thinking that?

I want to keep her for a friend. She's a swell girl. Would it be a good idea to get back in touch with her and let her know I want to continue our friendship?
