The fact that your doctor has almost prescribed the pill for you anyway just proves that all he (or she) wants is money. I'm 19 and didn't start taking the pill until just a couple of months ago. It is to regulate my period and to stop those paralyzing cramps, but considering I'm older and have more knowledge of my own body, I was able to make an informed decision about whether or not I wanted to take the pill.Seriously, I would hold off on taking the pill until you are at least 18. Age doesn't neccessarily matter in this situation, it's the fact that your body might not be ready for extra hormones that the pill will surely be abundant in. Be patient with your body; you won't regret it. Good luck! =]

I'm going to assume that you've already talked to your doctor since that's the only way you can get that pill. But just in case you haven't, go talk to your doctor! They will be able to give you the most accurate answer to your question since they know how your body reacts to certain things. I've been on Yasmin (there basically the same pill as yaz) for over a year now and haven't had any of those problems. My sister and my best friend haven't had any problems either. It will make you periods lighter, shorter, and steady. As in you can set your calender by it. Also it's really help with my sisters mood swings, that girl use to be terrifying, and now she's very nice. My husband says that it's made a big difference in my mood swings as well. My best friend use to struggle with acne as well and she doesn't seem to have any problems with her acne because of the pill. If anything it's gotten better. The only complaint I've heard is that some girls feel sick for about and hour when they take it. My sister and I don't have a problem with that, but my doctor and best friend do. The both say that if you take it when your going to bed it's not so bad because you just sleep through it. But other than that I haven't had any problems or know anybody who has. I would suggests that you try it and see how it works for you. And if you were wondering about ages, my sister is 17 and started when she was 16, I'm 19 and started when I was 18, my best friend is 20 and started when she was 17.

The only way to know if you will get the side effects of the pill is to try it.
You only get the side effects if the pill isn't the right one for you, if you do get side effects go back to your doctor and they will find a different one to suit you.
Try the pill to regualate your periods, if you don't like it then you don't have to continue taking it.
