Should I suggest friends with benefits to him?

A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for 7 months. About a month ago some family things came up and I was having trouble dealing with this and I fell into depression. He was okay with listening at first but eventually after listening to me rant for days he got annoyed and starting making himself distant. In the mornings when we would see each other he wouldn't talk to me. That didn't really help. After a while he just ignored me for a couple days and told me that he missed me and he didn't want to lose me. Everything got better for a while and it was great until he started making mean jokes and I started to fall back into my depressed state. Whenever we spend time together or video chat it's great and he is amazingly sweet but when we are the phone the jokes just don't stop after I ask him to stop them. Lately he hasn't wanted to talk to me outside of the times we see each other in the morning and it is starting to feel like more of a friends with benefits deal. Should I suggest friends with benefits and try and win him back or what? I don't know what to do! Thanks.
