A female United Kingdom age , anonymous writes:

I am 47 my husband same age at the middle of settling my divorce. It's stressful. I am looking for a job and start my new life. The feeling of coming home to an empty house is terrible. I've met this man who came to fix my tap at my house. I feel so lonely so I go for it. He is 18 years older than me. I like him helping around the house and taking me out shopping at weekends. We've been together for 9 months now. The feeling about him is too old for me is getting stronger and stronger. Should I stay with someone who is as old as my dad because I am afraid of being on my own and for him being helpful? Please advise.

I'm a great believer that age just doesnt matter one bit, but if you feel no love for him and his age is starting to get to you then get rid! Honestly, it is great being on your own, you can do what you want and when you want. Stop worrying about the lonliness thing. It will be ok. You can mail me if you are lonely and i'll put you right. Stop whittling, enjoy the freedom and be yourself. Get rid of him! You deserve better.

take care

All I can say to this is that the only reason you should want to stay with a man is because you love him, and not because you're lonely. If you're in love, age doesn't come into it one bit, or at least, it shouldn't.
