After much discussion we agreed to keep the baby and have now reached the point where we need to decide our next step. While he would like me to leave Canada and join him in the US but I think I should wait until after the baby is born to move because here I know I don't have to worry about medical costs for myself and the baby where as in the US I am unfamiliar with how it works but I do know I wouldn't have any coverage and am not a citizen but my boyfriend is arguing he wants his baby born in the US. How do I convince him this is for the best and a choice that's letting me be financially responsible and know that my baby will still receive the best care? Does it matter where the baby is born? I have no objections to moving in with him and don't want to go through the pregnancy alone. I'm feel like despite the sacrifice this is still the responsible thing to do.

They will automaticaly have duo citizenship. All you have to do is fill out some forms, but aslong as the dad signs it, youre good to go. Just ensure that if you decide to go to the states that you have the baby carry a US Passport.
You need to make a decision fast. The pregnancy isnt going to wait, and visas to get to be able to live with you boyfriend take from 6-12 months to get .. you dont have time to think this one through, you need to go with your gut.

Any baby born on US soil is automatically an USA citizen, and there's people who would give one of their limbs for
USA citizenship.
I guess you 'll have to decide how much of a bonus this would be ( or not be ) in your personal case.
