A female South Africa age 26-29, anonymous writes:

Okay. Let me start by saying i got this two friends ive made on the internet social network. We have been sharing texts for a year and 3 months now. One of them is male and the other one is a female. We are both from different countries. Today they asked me to share my phone numbers with them so they could call me an listen to my voice. Do you think sending my phone number to them s the right thing to do?

Tisha-1 agony auntNo, I think it would be better if you didn't give them your phone number. Have you asked your parents what they think? Do your parents even know about your friends? Because I think you may be in a little over your head. Time to ask your parents.

tennisstar88 agony auntJust saw your update, and my advice still stays the same.

It sounds like these people are wanting you to trust them so they scam you. Don't be so naive and fall for it.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (3 April 2012):

'how have you been sending texts without using your phone'. Ive been using my phone but not my full personal information only my name, plus the social network that we are using doesnt give away personal details. Its a female and a male who come from the same country (forgot to mention) but different locations. They dont seem to know one another as they never say a thing about each other. The male he s been asking for my numbers few days ago (and he s still asking for them). In most cases i would ask him 'why' and he would say 'dont ask me that'. As for the female she started asking me for my digits yestaday every time i logged in. I told her im not used to that, she said what im doing is bad. I said 'why', she said she s a Christian i should trust her. Should i trust her like she s saying? Its really creepy plus she s been asking me for money lately telling me that her family abandoned her. Thank you for the previous answers, they mean alot. Please keep posting your opinions and helping me do the right thing. xoxo

tennisstar88 agony auntWhy can't you Skype them and video chat with them? That way you know exactly who you're talking to.

I wouldn't give out personal information over the internet like that, it's dangerous. Plus, international calling is NOT cheap.
