writes:I have a very shy boyfriend...I want him to hold my hand on the first date...He did that with quite a few of his old girlfriends...So I'm not sure if I should make the first move or not...If he rejects me, I'll create an akward atmosphere...But if he doesn't make the first move, well, lets just say I can't see him as much as I could. So the date wouldn't be as happy for me...What should I do?

well really if he doesn't then you should, because of neither of you do then its going no where. And if he does reject you then its not time and sooner or later you'll be accepted.
And realistically you have to get over the fear of embarrassment and being in awkward situations, because they will always happen one way or another

If the benefits outweigh the downsides, then take the risk. Nobody has ever died of embarrassment, but plenty have died regretting the chance they did not take.
