It was a long way away (I figured time would be the best thing) and she really make me promise.Well a year is coming up and I was planning on keeping the promise I made but I'm having doubts. Is this really such a good idea? I would have a hard time doing anything short of keeping the promise but I'm town right now. Plus, I'm not seeing anyone right now so maybe that will give off the wrong signal...Any thoughts on this? Maybe I could email her that I'm up for meeting up but that it might not be the best idea? Ignoring her completely would make it look like I never cared about her.

Well if she made you promise and you made that promise then you should really do that.
i mean make sure she knows it's just a friend thing and that there is nothing in it for you like no sort of invitation for her to get back with you.
just email her and say hey! remember that promise well if you fancy meeting for a coffee i am still up for it.
just make sure she knows there is nothing in it and it is just a coffee meeting with friends.
no harm in that :)
hope this helps hun
