I went back to school for dietary aide and I just got a offer in different facility to work in the kitchen.I went for training and I must say I like the job much better.I'm still working part-time as CNA so I was thinking to drop the CNA job now since I can't stand it.However my concern is I just started this new place so it might be a bad idea to quit so soon.looking for advice Reply to this Question Share |

You should do a job that you are happy at. Don't leave yet until you have settled in to the new job and are sure that the wages are good enough. But yes go for the work that makes life easier for you. No point going to work and coming home stressed out.

Thank you Honeyppie. That has cleared that up for me. :-) OP you are right about not leaving a job until you have another. It is much easier to get a job if you already have one. And it is certainly a more secure way to do things.Life is too short to spend in a job you hate. You will end up looking back and thinking, 'What if...'.Your time is finite and you sell a portion of it to get you what you need: food, clothes. housing etc. If you get a job you love it won't feel like work. A win/win situation.

(Denizen, I think OP means CNA = Certified Nurse Aide)
If you got a job offer for a job you RATHER do, then I'd say go for it. If you get more hours and or more pay. There is no need to go backward on either really.
I wouldn't quit a job if I didn't have another one lined up though.

CNA - what is that: China Northern Airlines; Caribbean News Agency; Canadian Numismatic Association; Cisco Network Assistant; Certified National Accountant?
Anyway you don't like it. In fact you hate it, but you like your new job. However you aren't certain either that you will continue to like your new job or that you will have job security.
Well if you quit your CNA job can you go back to it if the kitchen job goes sour (pun intended)? If it is really that bad would you want to?
What is life without a little risk?
