He's nice enough but on the third date I realized 1)I don't find him attractive2)we don't have important interests, life views, or goals, in common. He's completely different from me in terms of intellect and focus and work ethic.3) Although we are both Christians, I am very liberal. I hate him when he makes crappy ignorant homophobic jokes about homosexuals. They are my friends. I feel sick to myself that I don't tell him how I feel and dumping him. He may believe I'm going there for supporting them, but so what? On the other hand, he is nice, and he likes me. But I don't think we are compatible at all. I don't want to hurt his feelings. Should I break up with him, and how?

It seems to me that it is fairly obvious that you shouldn't be with this guy. Because someone likes you isnt enough of a reason to be with someone. If you feel like you have nothing in common then all you are doing is wasting your time and this guys time. Why not concentrate on finding someone who you do share interests with and let him do the same.
