Should I forget about dating him and just go back to university?

Question - (1 August 2005) 1 Answers - (Newest, 7 August 2005)
A female United Kingdom, anonymous writes:

Hey, I had been with my boyfriend, Lee* for almost 18 months when I got a new job and met someone else. Me and Lee* are only 18 and Carl is 27*. I really fell for him and we spent a lot of time together. It came to the point where I never saw Lee* and decided to finish with him.

Now Carl* tells me I'm too young and he's worried it won't work out. I'm about to go to university and he says he doesn't want to 'hold me back' and wants me to have fun. I appreciate his thoughts but isn't that my problem?

I really like Carl* but I can't go on like we are now, seeing each other and not committing. I have not slept with him and I said I wouldn't until he committed to me. Should I carry on seeing Carl or forget about him? Is he making excuses? Thanks.

Go back to university and have fun. The way you feel at graduation may be way different from now.

Carl sounds like a decent guy, keep in touch.
