A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi guys! Right i was in Uni yesterday there is a 41 year old guy there basically yesterday we had a mock exam and after it was finished he was searching around everywhere so i asked him what he was looking for. He said an earring i said well i'm not sure if you wore both i don't pay much attention to peoples earrings.

Anyways we were outside a group of us and i said 'Maybe it's imbedded in someones shoe' (my logic thinking was people wear the fake uggs with foam and if it was on the floor someone could step on it) He then snapped and said to me ' If you've got nothing nice to say don't say anything at all' So i was like urm ok so i said ' Its and earring like' he then told me apparently they cost £2500 pounds because they're a make stud or something so i was like that's not my problem get a pair from asda he then said to me ' I hope you get run over by a car or better yet die a slow and painful death by a disease that eats you from the inside out'

Am i crazy in thinking he over reacted or am i the one over reacting?

Do you think i should tell my lecturers?

My one friend as well said he does bully me he just rips into me over something i say playfully but takes it to the extreme.

Well the reason why it upset me was because it only happened yesterday and it was my birthday also kinda put a downer because it was something so small.

I have never ever said anything spiteful towards him.

But I am going to ignore him now.

No you are definitely not over reacting, this man is out of order and what he said to you was both nasty and not normal. I would talk to your lecturer about it.

So_Very_Confused agony auntthere is a reason a 41 yr old is in uni during the day

it sounds like he has social issues that cause him to be inappropriate.

let it go.

in fact, ignore him totally forever. he's not worth the psychic energy.

You were fine, he's an asshole and will never be in a happy relationship and prolly lives with his mom or gma lol, don't lose any sleep he's stupid. But you may have sounded rude, he had a bad day and took it out on you and prolly the coffee shop round the corner, just wish him well and he'll find it on the floor next to his nite stand.
