A female United States age 51-59, anonymous writes:

My Husband is a OTR truck driver and got a text from a girl that said "no one loves you more than I do, pass this on to 5 people you love." He says that this is not serious that it is more like a game and people just text stuff like that. Should I be upset or is this texting just not serious? He also says that I am just jealous and that he should be able to have female friends the same as male, because I should trust him.

This is a chain. However don't let your husband accuse you of jealousy. There is so much cheating via texts going on these days it leads to a lot of insecurity solid relationship or not. Definitely get some male friends and maybe text one of them in his company - he can feel the small twinge of jealousy then.

KickRox agony auntIt's just a chain text! You pass it on to other people. Sometimes it says something dumb or other times it's something romantic..like letting you know someone cares. You can easily tell it's been passed on to others if the text starts off with (FWD:) in the beginning.

I'd say there's nothing to worry about. It's all a game!

PeterPan agony auntYeah, I've received messages like that on my cell too. It's just the new form of email junk-mail. It's not a big deal. And I've received them from people that I have not spoken to or even know.

As far as limiting your husband's friends... why would you want to do that? What's wrong with him having friends -- some women and some men? If your marriage is solid and you both are committed to each other, then what is there to worry about?

If he has had a past history with this girl- maybe him like her, or vis versa then you should be mad. Otherwise you shouldn't be mad those are chain letters. She probably sent those to many more guys that you.
