I've actually lost weight and my hair is thicker, my skin is in amazing condition i've noticed since being on it.... So is it that my body just reacted well to it, or does this mean the pill isn't working after having no side effects? It's only been a month, so would it be a while longer till that kicks in?

Lucky you! Don't wish for anything to change. Just roll with it.

hello, I would say dont even think of switching pills, I have had no side effects from the pill since I went on it 7 years ago age 16, I was the same as you -expecting side effects to the extent where I was afraid of taking it. but it suits me just fine and my periods are a breeze compared to the hell I endured before. count yourself lucky!

Some women are affected some aren't - if you are not, you are lucky. The pill still work.
Another brand might not work so well for you and another woman might have no side effects for that one.. The thing is we are all different and our hormonal fluctuations are unique to us. Unfortunately for medical companies.

Something like 70% experience side effects. You are in that lucky 30%. It definitely does not mean anything about its effectiveness. Once you've been on it either for 7 days, or immediately if you started the first day of your period, you are protected.
Just remember what kc_100 says, that you need to take it the same time every day and that vomiting, diarrhea, and certain kinds of antibiotics can make it ineffective. You can always call a pharmacist if you have any questions, they will usually answer over the phone.

It is a myth that everyone should experience side effects on the pill, in fact if you get negative side effects then you should be going back to the doctor to get changed onto a different one!
And the biggest myth of all is the weight gain, after all how can a pill force you to put more food in your mouth and do less exercise?! Yes some women can experience a slight increase in feeling hungry, but they are responsible for putting the food into their own mouth. No-one to blame but themselves for the weight gain!
If you are not having side effects that is great, it shows you have found a pill that agrees with you and dont worry about it any more, unless you start getting some bad side effects.
Remember this - you should not have side effects when taking the pill, if you do see your doctor. The side effects in the booklet that comes with your pill are just there to cover the pharmacuetical company's back legally, just in case someone experiences one of them. If they list as many side effects as possible it means they cant be sued if someone experiences a side effect that wasnt on the list. Ignore the booklet in terms of side effects, those are just rare and exceptional cases.
The pill will be working 100% by now as long as you have been taking it around the same time every day, and havent been ill (sickness and diarohhea can reduce effectiveness). Antibiotics can also stop the pill working. But if you have been taking it as planned then you will be fine.
Dont listen to people scaremongering, they are talking rubbish!
