Should I be concerned about this discharge?

Question - (3 February 2010) 2 Answers - (Newest, 3 February 2010)
A female Canada age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I started on the birth control patch a few weeks ago. I was suppose to have my period January 17-ish, but I started a week before my period was suppose to come, so I didn't get it until this week. So I didn't have my period at all in January.

Today, when I was laughing and coughing, I felt something 'come out of me' when I looked to see what it was, it looked like a clot but it wasn't round or big in width.. just about 4 inches long - it was white/skin tone color, with blood in it, on my pad. It kind of looked like a piece of flesh and it had that rubbery feeling too. (Sorry don't mean to sound gross or go into to much detail)

I'm pretty sure it's not a miscarriage considering I haven't had sex since the first week of November and I don't use tampons (another person suggested that it was that..)

Should I look into this with great concern? Need some good input before I scare myself silly..

Myrrh agony auntHi. Im sure theres nothing to be scared about. The patch will be bringing changes to your body and things can happen. Just pop along to your doctor for a chat. Its always better to get things checked properly x

veronika agony auntI can't say for sure what it is, but I would suggest going to a doctor if you're concerned. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your body.
